A man and a woman have sustained serious injuries following a collision in Bilston early on Monday, June 1. Emergency services were called to the junction of Loxdale Street and Vulcan Road at approximately 2:40 AM.
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene. Upon arrival, medics treated both patients for serious injuries before transporting them under emergency conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service stated: 'We were called to reports of an RTC involving one car at the junction of Loxdale Street and Vulcan Road in Bilston at 2:40 AM. On arrival, crews found two patients, a man and a woman. Both were treated for serious injuries and conveyed under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.'
Road Closure and Reopening
West Midlands Police closed the road to facilitate emergency response efforts. According to West Midlands Roads, Loxdale Street near Oxford Street was shut, causing delays for motorists. The road was reopened at approximately 9:45 AM, with an update stating: 'Cleared. Loxdale Street, Bilston has now reopened.'
West Midlands Police have been approached for further comment regarding the circumstances of the crash.
