Man found dead in Cannock as police launch investigation

Emergency services were unable to save a man discovered outside a property in Cannock in the early hours of Sunday morning, despite extensive efforts.

Major Emergency Service Response

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 4.29am on Sunday, November 30, to reports of a medical emergency on Longford Road. A significant deployment of resources rushed to the scene, including two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car.

Upon arrival, crews found a man already receiving basic life support from police officers who were first on the scene. Paramedics immediately began administering advanced life support in a desperate attempt to revive him.

Efforts to Save Life Prove Unsuccessful

Despite the combined efforts of police and ambulance crews performing CPR, the man, who was in his 40s, could not be saved. A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed the tragic outcome, stating that "it became apparent nothing could be done to save him" and he was confirmed dead at the location.

The identity of the man has not been publicly released at this time. Staffordshire Police have confirmed that his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Police Launch Investigation into Unexplained Death

Staffordshire Police have stated they are "keeping an open mind" regarding the circumstances, which are currently being treated as unexplained. A force spokesperson emphasised their commitment to establishing the events leading up to the man's death.

Officers are now appealing to the public for information that could assist their investigation. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Longford Road area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police have also asked residents and motorists to check any doorbell or dashcam footage that might have captured the vicinity. Anyone with information is urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 110 of November 30.
