Former England football star Alex Scott has officially entered the Australian jungle as a contestant on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2025. The 41-year-old sports icon joins fellow celebrities including rapper Aitch and Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley in this year's line-up, all vying for the coveted title of King or Queen of the Jungle.
From Football Pitch to Jungle Camp
Scott appears well-prepared for the challenges ahead, telling producers: "I can clean. I can offer my services there". She humorously referenced previous experience cleaning ex-footballer Ian Wright's pants during their playing days. The London-born athlete believes her background in professional sports makes her ideally suited for endurance trials, stating: "Like, I'm mentally that person that never wants to give up."
Despite her tough athletic persona, Scott admits to being "petrified of a lot of things", specifically identifying rats and snakes as major fears that could challenge her in the jungle environment.
A Stellar Football Career
Scott's journey to fame began remarkably early when she signed with Arsenal at just eight years old, playing as a right-back throughout her formative years. Her talent earned her a place on the England women's team at age 16, beginning an international career that would see her make 140 appearances for her country over 13 years.
This impressive record makes her one of England's most-capped female players. Scott also represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics, showcasing her skills on home turf during the prestigious international event.
Life After Football and Personal Relationships
Since retiring from professional football in 2017, Scott has successfully transitioned to broadcasting, becoming the first female football pundit on Sky Sports' Super Sunday. Her media career has flourished, establishing her as a respected voice in sports journalism.
Personally, Scott is in a relationship with singer Jess Glynne. The couple reportedly met after appearing on the same panel at an event and began dating in the summer of 2023. After initially keeping their relationship private, they've since become more public, attending numerous events together.
Scott revealed that if she could teleport anyone to the jungle's famous Dunny toilet for a chat, it would be her girlfriend, joking: "My partner Jessica. I don't think she'd be happy joining me in there, but it's not like we have not been in a toilet together before."
The 2025 series of I'm A Celebrity promises to be particularly challenging, with producers implementing new rules to make the game show "tougher" and encourage more conflict among campmates, ensuring Scott and her fellow celebrities face their most demanding jungle experience yet.
