Birmingham City Council has generated more than £150,000 through swift land sales, with plots in Sutton Coldfield, Sheldon, and Alum Rock being purchased at auction. The sales brought in a total of £153,500, providing a welcome financial boost for the local authority at the end of last week.

An irregular parcel of land, accessed between 65 and 67 Four Oaks Common Road, sold for £50,000. The reserve price had been set at £50,000 or more. The site, which extends to approximately 692 square metres (7,448 square feet), is suitable for a variety of uses subject to obtaining the necessary permissions. This freehold sale offers vacant possession.
Land Rear of 49/51 Hazeldene Road, Sheldon
This plot, with access between 49 and 51 Hazeldene Road in a primarily residential area, sold for £73,000—well above the asking price of £50,000 or more. The freehold tenure provides vacant possession upon completion, and the site extends to roughly 580 square metres (6,243 square feet).

Withdrawn Lots and Future Auction
Two lots—land adjacent to 30 Howard Road East, Kings Heath, and land to the rear of 325 Soho Road, Handsworth—were withdrawn from the latest auction. They may appear in future sales. The next auction is scheduled for 8:30 am on Thursday, July 9.
