The Tesco Express supermarket on Chester Road, Streetly, has closed its doors to undergo a comprehensive refurbishment. The store shut on Friday, June 19, to facilitate the installation of new energy-efficient fridges and freezers, as well as the addition of an extra checkout and expanded product ranges.
Refit Details and Timeline
According to a Tesco spokesperson, the works include improvements to the overall design of the store. The refit is expected to be completed by late July. In the interim, customers are directed to nearby Tesco Express stores on Walsall Road and in New Oscott.
Customer Impact and Apology
The Tesco spokesperson stated: "Our Streetly Express store is undergoing a refit to improve the shopping experience for customers, and will be closed from Friday 19 June until late July. Works include the installation of new energy efficient fridges and freezers and improvements to the overall design of the store. We apologise for the inconvenience caused, and we look forward to welcoming customers back to the refreshed store after the works are completed."
