Murder Charge in Burntwood Death: Man in Court

A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Burntwood, Staffordshire. Corey Magnus, also known as John Solomon, of Burntwood, is accused of killing Sashon Richards-Brown, 32, who was found with significant injuries on Hazel Grove.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 9am on Tuesday, May 5, following reports of a disturbance. Mr Richards-Brown, who had no fixed abode, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 10am.

Danielle Simpson, 33, also of Burntwood, has been charged with assisting an offender. Both Magnus and Simpson were due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Friday, May 8.

Staffordshire Police confirmed that Mr Richards-Brown's family is being supported by specialist officers. A dog that was taken to an emergency vet for treatment after the incident remains in a serious condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
