Aston Villa are bracing for a challenging summer transfer window after securing Europa League glory, with significant moves expected in the market. Reports indicate that Arsenal are preparing to test Villa's resolve over Morgan Rogers.
Arsenal Lead Chase for Rogers
According to TalkSport, Mikel Arteta is keen to bring England international Morgan Rogers to the Emirates following an outstanding season under Unai Emery. Arteta aims to make a statement after ending Arsenal's 22-year wait for a Premier League title.
Chelsea are also interested in Rogers as new boss Xabi Alonso seeks to rebuild the squad after a disappointing campaign. Manchester United, now back in the Champions League, are monitoring the attacker, with technical director Jason Wilcox a known admirer.
Liverpool, previously linked with Rogers, appear to have cooled their interest after signing Florian Wirtz last summer. Abroad, Paris Saint-Germain have tracked the 22-year-old, who is valued at £80 million. However, intense competition could drive his price above £100 million.
Joe Gomez on Villa's Radar
Aston Villa are also eyeing Liverpool defender Joe Gomez amid uncertainty over his future. The England international has one year left on his contract, with no extension in sight. AC Milan and Besiktas are monitoring the versatile defender, who can play right-back and centre-back.
Liverpool have already reinforced their defence with Jeremy Jacquet arriving this summer, potentially paving the way for Gomez's exit. Villa have not yet contacted Liverpool but are expected to strengthen significantly after qualifying for the Champions League.
However, Villa may need to sell key players to manage financial challenges, with Rogers a prime target for Arsenal. Additionally, James Trafford and Harvey Barnes are on Villa's wishlist.
