Wagner has established himself as one of Major League Soccer's most consistent performers over his six-year stint in the United States. His exceptional 2025 campaign was recognised with a place in the MLS Team of the Season, an honour he shared with global icon Lionel Messi of Inter Miami.
The German's creative output from defence has been a significant asset for Philadelphia. Last season, he contributed two goals and 11 assists in 35 matches. This followed a pattern of productivity, with Wagner providing 10 assists in 2024 and a further eight in 2023.
