Football Hooligans Banned for Four Years After Beer Can Attack at Match

Two football fans have been banned from attending matches for four years after their disruptive and aggressive behavior at a Kidderminster Harriers game. The incident, which occurred during a match against Macclesfield Town, has resulted in significant legal consequences for the individuals involved.

Court Proceedings and Sentencing

Samuel Enderbury, aged 26, of Redwing Court, Kidderminster, and Daniel Wyatt, aged 36, of Lister Road, Kidderminster, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 24. Both men pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behavior likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress.

The court heard that during the match on Saturday, September 6, 2025, Enderbury threw a can of beer at a group of away fans, while Wyatt acted in a threatening and aggressive manner. Wyatt also made threats of violence towards police officers who were attempting to maintain order among a large group of supporters.

As a result of their actions, the duo were each banned from attending football matches for four years and ordered to pay £85 in costs. Additionally, Enderbury was fined £160, and Wyatt was fined £40.

Police Response and Community Impact

PC Ryan Bridgewood, one of the officers on duty at the time, expressed satisfaction with the court's decision. He stated, "We are pleased Enderbury and Wyatt have been banned from attending football matches for four years following their appalling behavior after the game against Macclesfield last September."

He further explained that their actions were designed to provoke disorder among away fans, causing fear and intimidation among supporters who had come to enjoy a Saturday afternoon game. The threats towards police officers added to the severity of the incident.

PC Bridgewood emphasized, "We hope this court result shows we will always act against the minority who want to spoil it for the majority of fans and serve as a reminder to those looking to create disorder that you too could face a banning order."

Official Statement from West Mercia Police

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed the sentencing, noting that the two Kidderminster men received football banning orders and fines for their role in the disorder after the match in September 2025. The spokesperson reiterated the details of the incident, highlighting Enderbury's act of throwing a beer can to provoke away fans and Wyatt's threatening behavior towards police.

This case underscores the ongoing efforts by authorities to maintain safety and order at football matches, ensuring that such disruptive actions are met with strict legal penalties to protect the enjoyment of the sport for all fans.
