Norwich City are on the verge of ending their search for a new manager by appointing former Rangers boss Philippe Clement.
Imminent Appointment
Reports indicate an official announcement could be made as early as Tuesday, 18th November 2025. This development comes just nine days after the club dismissed previous manager Liam Manning.
The decision to part ways with Manning followed a difficult period for the Canaries, who were on an 11-game winless run and had suffered eight consecutive home defeats, leaving them second from bottom in the Championship table.
Clement's Credentials
The club is ready to hand control to the 51-year-old Belgian, who left his position at Scottish club Rangers in February. During his tenure at Ibrox, Clement secured the Scottish Cup in 2024 and maintained an impressive 64 per cent win ratio.
His managerial pedigree is further strengthened by three Belgian league title wins, two with Club Brugge and one with Genk. He departed Rangers with the team 13 points behind rivals Celtic, though he had successfully guided them to the Europa League knockout stages.
Wider Managerial Landscape
Clement's expected appointment at Carrow Road marks the first resolution among several Championship clubs seeking new leadership during the international break.
Swansea City continue their search for a head coach, while Middlesbrough are close to naming Kim Hellberg as their new manager. At Southampton, Tonda Eckert is anticipated to oversee the next three matches and could become the permanent successor to Will Still.
Norwich had also been linked with Jon Dahl Tomasson and Gary O'Neil, but have moved decisively for Clement. The new boss could be in the dugout for the team's upcoming away match against Birmingham City at St Andrew's this weekend.
