West Brom Player Ratings: Low Marks at Sheffield Wednesday

West Bromwich Albion ended the Championship season with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday. Correspondent Lewis Cox provides the player ratings from a lackluster performance at Hillsborough.

Starting XI Ratings

Max O'Leary: 5

Made one big early save but was helpless with either of the two set-piece goals. Otherwise not stretched for too many more saves.

Danny Imray: 5

One of his quieter displays but still threatened with a low early strike. A couple of decent runs in later stages as he improved.

Alfie Gilchrist: 4

Given a surprise recall to the starting XI at centre-back for Phillips, Gilchrist was unable to stem Wednesday attacks. The Baggies missed extra height, and the defender lacked impact.

George Campbell: 5

Not one of his finest days after recent form, but that goes across the board. One of two recovery challenges helped out, but he will be disappointed.

Callum Styles: 5

Has not had many poor displays this season, but even the double award winner could not inspire his side here. A couple of bright bursts down the left but otherwise low-key.

Ollie Bostock: 5

A victim of the triple half-time change after a tough schooling at senior level. Tried to be bright with endeavour, but it would not happen for him.

Alex Mowatt: 4

Had to lead midfield today without injured Molumby and struggled next to Diakite. Could not get going. The half-time change of shape barely helped.

Ousmane Diakite: 4

One of his poorest displays for some time as, like team-mates, he struggled to find any momentum or rhythm. An early yellow did not help him getting stuck in.

Isaac Price: 4

Had a couple of situations early on where he might have played a better pass and got his side going, but faded and was unable to inspire in the final third. A scuffed free-kick created the consolation.

Josh Maja: 4

Almost totally ineffective on what is likely to be his final Albion appearance. Unsurprisingly brought off at the break.

Aune Heggebo: 4

Wasteful in a couple of openings where he picked the wrong decisions. The right calls would have got team-mates in. A tame shot easily saved and was hauled off.
