Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw at Molineux against Sunderland, with players booed off after the final whistle. The home side fell behind before being handed a boost when Sunderland were reduced to ten men. Santi Bueno equalised, and Wolves had further chances, but fans were left frustrated by certain substitutions. Here are a few moments you may have missed from the match.
Voting with their feet
Despite a desperately poor campaign, Wolves have generally been well supported throughout the dark days. Molineux, though not full, has not been a ground with scores of empty seats. Fans have kept the atmosphere up and tried to give it a good go. They did that against Sunderland, but the number of empty seats was telling. The upper section of the Steve Bull stand looked half full, while the North Bank was also half full. The South Bank, usually full, had empty seats dotted about. After three defeats, some fans have simply had enough, and you cannot blame them.
'Like watching Brazil'
Wolves fans are usually witty and creative with their chanting, and there were a host of ironic chants in the first half against Sunderland. There were anti-VAR chants after the Sunderland red card incident. But with Wolves struggling to get hold of the ball and create chances, they were serenaded with an ironic rendition of 'it's just like watching Brazil'. It drew plenty of laughs from fans and reporters in the press box. 'Lincoln away' was another chant. For the second straight game, there were loud calls against owners Fosun, with fans asking them to sell the club.
South Bank evacuation
As mentioned, there were many empty seats at Molineux for the game. But in the second half, a small section of the South Bank became completely empty. Fans were made to move during the break, and no confirmation has been given as to why. However, there was talk on social media among Wolves fans that it was due to something falling from the roof in that section of the ground.
