Olympic gold medal sprinter Christine Ohuruogu recently delivered an unforgettable training experience for members of the Ware Joggers running club. The celebrated athlete, who is an Olympic gold medalist and a double World Champion in the 400 meters, visited the club's headquarters at Wodson Park in Ware, Hertfordshire, to lead a dynamic session.

A Night of Elite Athletics Training

During the track training event, Christine put 32 club members through their paces with an extended drills session and activation stretches. She then challenged the runners with a 20-minute 'blind' Fartlek session, a training method that involves varying speeds without prior notice, designed to boost endurance and speed.

Inspiring Moments and Future Plans

The session concluded with a memorable highlight as Christine allowed participants to try on her Olympic medals, offering a tangible connection to her athletic achievements. Sharon Threlfall, the head coach who organized the event, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "It was certainly a special night for Ware Joggers, and the plan is for Christine to return later in the year. We were delighted with the turnout of club members and Christine reported that we have created something special at the club with warmth and atmosphere."

This visit not only provided elite-level training but also fostered community spirit within the club, with plans already in motion for Christine's return to further inspire local runners.
