Former Wolves Defender Kevin Foley Secures Coaching Silverware with Luton Town

Kevin Foley, a former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender with more than 200 appearances for the club, has added a coaching trophy to his collection following Luton Town's victory in the EFL Trophy. The Irish defender, who initially signed for Wolves from Luton Town, has transitioned successfully into coaching after retiring from professional play.

A Distinguished Playing Career at Wolves and Beyond

During his time with Wolves, Foley experienced title-winning seasons in both the Championship and League One, contributing significantly to the club's successes. After his stint at Wolves, he moved to Copenhagen and later featured for several EFL teams, with his final playing appearance being for Billericay Town.

Coaching Journey from the US to England

Foley began his coaching career in the United States, working alongside former Wolves teammate Neil Collins at Tampa Bay Rowdies. He then returned to England, where his first coaching role was with another ex-Wolves colleague, Rob Edwards, at Forest Green Rovers. Together, they helped the team clinch the League Two title.

Full Circle Return to Luton Town

In September 2022, Foley ventured into non-league football, joining forces with ex-Birmingham City defender Roger Johnson at Brackley Town. However, his career came full circle in July 2023 when he rejoined Luton Town as part of Rob Edwards' coaching staff. Under the guidance of Jack Wilshire, Foley was promoted to first-team coach, setting the stage for his recent achievement.

On Sunday, Luton Town triumphed over Stockport County to win the EFL Trophy, marking a significant milestone in Foley's coaching career. This victory adds to the silverware he earned as a player, highlighting his continued impact in football beyond his playing days.
