Pilgrims Hospices Launches Inaugural Miner's Way Challenge in Kent
Families and fitness enthusiasts across the community are warmly invited to participate in a special new event on Saturday, March 28. Pilgrims Hospices is proudly launching the very first Miner's Way Challenge, an exciting initiative designed to celebrate the region's rich mining heritage while supporting a vital cause.
Event Details and Location
The event will take place across the picturesque Betteshanger Country Park and the historic Miner's Way Trail, offering participants a chance to explore beautiful landscapes. Every individual taking part will be raising crucial funds to help provide compassionate care for local people living with incurable illnesses, making each step meaningful for hospice services in East Kent.
Choose Your Perfect Challenge
To ensure there is an ideal distance for every ability, four different routes are available:
- The Challenge: A multi-terrain 13.7-mile half marathon that winds from Aylesham to Betteshanger through lovely woodland and village trails, perfect for those seeking a scenic endurance test.
- The Loop The Loop: A timed 20km run on a smooth, closed-road circuit, ideal for runners training for a spring marathon or looking to improve their pace.
- The Circuit: A fast and friendly 10km route designed for speed seekers aiming to chase a new personal best in a supportive environment.
- The Explorer: A 3km family trail adventure filled with local wildlife and discovery, offering a fun day out for children and adults alike.
What to Expect on the Day
This is a fully supported event, meaning participants will have access to clearly signed routes, well-stocked rest stops, and professional medical support throughout. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal to mark their achievement, with 10km and 20km runners benefiting from professional chip timing for accurate results.
Participants will also receive a comprehensive pre-event pack and can utilize the free Pilgrims Event App to track their training progress and fundraising efforts. It is time to gather friends and family to make every mile matter for hospice care in the region.
