ADI Delivers Record-Breaking Indoor Fan Zone Screen to Aston Villa

Screen technology and event production company ADI has achieved a significant milestone by installing the United Kingdom's largest indoor fan zone screen at Aston Villa's warehouse facility. This impressive installation forms a crucial part of the football club's extensive regeneration programme, aimed at revitalising the Villa Park area and enhancing the overall fan experience.

Transforming the Warehouse Venue

The warehouse, situated adjacent to the historic Villa Park football ground, has been dramatically upgraded with a bespoke 90.3 square metre LED screen. This ultrawide display utilises ADI's advanced MT 2.5mm technology, positioning it as the centrepiece of the venue. Strategically installed at the rear of the main stage, the screen serves multiple purposes, functioning as a dynamic backdrop for live entertainment or as a primary display for large-scale presentations, screenings, exhibitions, and conferences.

This installation significantly boosts the venue's versatility, enabling it to accommodate both matchday activities and a diverse year-round event schedule. The fine-pitch LED technology ensures high-resolution imagery even at close viewing distances, guaranteeing premium visual performance for various events, including live entertainment, branded activations, and corporate functions.

Enhancing Fan Engagement and Commercial Value

Ben Hatton, Chief Operating Officer at Aston Villa, emphasised the value of the club's long-standing partnership with ADI. "Our trusted collaboration with ADI continues to deliver exceptional results, this time providing the largest indoor fan zone screen in the UK," he stated. "The ultrawide format strengthens our warehouse offerings, improves the matchday experience, and creates a flexible platform for future activations within our ongoing regeneration efforts."

The screen's ultrawide format moves beyond traditional 16:9 displays, offering Aston Villa a versatile digital canvas. This allows the club to tailor content specifically for matchdays or various warehouse events, incorporating diverse media, sponsor messaging, and interactive elements to maximise fan engagement and commercial returns. The new screen also establishes a focal point for supporters, known as 'Villans,' before and after home fixtures, reinforcing the warehouse as a key destination within the Villa Park North development.

A Longstanding Partnership and Broader Impact

This project marks the latest achievement in a partnership spanning over 25 years between ADI and Aston Villa. It supports a remarkable 453 percent increase in matchday revenue over the past seven years, with Aston Villa recording the strongest growth in matchday revenue among Europe's top 20 clubs by the 2024-25 season.

The warehouse screen installation is part of a broader transformation at Villa Park, which includes more than 750 square metres of new LED screens and signage installed during the 2024-25 season. The comprehensive programme also involves the production and maintenance of matchday content, alongside the implementation of a new UEFA-compliant digiBOARD perimeter system suitable for an elite European club.

Claire Fitzgerald-Firth, Head of Engagement and Client Services at ADI, based in Preston, expressed pride in the collaboration. "We are delighted to work with Aston Villa on this exciting warehouse project, delivering a creative and flexible digital solution to transform the location," she said. "Using ADI's MT Series LED technology, Aston Villa now boasts the UK's largest indoor fan zone screen. The scale and flexibility of this digital display provide the club with a powerful new platform to enhance fan engagement while generating additional commercial value within the Villa Park development."
