Ware Joggers Deliver Stellar Performances at Lee Valley Run Fest
A group of dedicated Ware Joggers showcased their running prowess at the Lee Valley Run Fest, held at the scenic Lee Valley White Water Centre. The event featured both a half marathon and a 10k race, offering participants a traffic-free, flat, and fast course that winds through the beautiful River Lee Country Park, providing an ideal setting for personal bests and competitive spirit.
Half Marathon Highlights: Debuts and Age Category Success
In the half marathon, Harriet Cruickshank made an impressive debut at this distance, securing fifth place in the F20-29 age category. She also finished as the 16th female overall, crossing the line in a remarkable time of 1:51:07. Other notable performances from Ware Jogger females included Michelle Cross, who completed the race in 2:06:51, Isla Threlfall with a time of 2:06:57, and her mother, head coach Sharon Threlfall, finishing in 2:09:47. Paula Gollop rounded out the group with a time of 2:26:40.
For the men, Jamie Long led the Ware Joggers, finishing in 1:36:44. Nick Cheal delivered an outstanding performance, earning third place in the M70-79 age category with a time of 2:41:33, highlighting the club's strength across all age groups.
10k Race: Strong Runs and Close Finishes
The 10k race also saw impressive efforts from Ware Joggers. Liam Tuck achieved sixth place in the 30-39 age category, clocking in at 44:42. Lewis Golbourn recorded a time of 47:40, with James Randall close behind at 47:41. Nicola Male completed the race in 1:00:21, demonstrating the club's depth and commitment to fitness and competition.
