Wolves Announce Major Youth Season Ticket Price Reductions

Wolverhampton Wanderers have unveiled a significant restructure of their season ticket pricing, with substantial reductions announced for younger supporters. The club has extended age bands to ensure fans pay less for longer before transitioning to adult categories, marking a strategic shift following previous criticism over price hikes.

Extended Age Bands and Price Cuts

The previous under-17 category has now been expanded to under-18, while the under-21 age band will become under-23. This change means supporters in these groups will benefit from reduced rates for an extended period. For the upcoming season, under-14s will see their season ticket price drop from £105 to £75, representing a considerable saving.

Under-18 tickets will be priced at £175 across all stands, down from £276 for those seated behind the goals this season. This adjustment means the majority of under-18s will save approximately £100, with those in central areas of the Billy Wright Stand saving more than £200. Importantly, under-18 and under-14 prices will now be consistent throughout all stands, eliminating previous variations based on seating location.

Response to Previous Criticism

This announcement comes after Wolves faced intense backlash for price increases in 2024, which led to some adjustments before the club froze all season ticket costs for the 2025/26 campaign. The new pricing structure appears to be a direct response to fan concerns and represents a more accessible approach for younger supporters and families.

Club officials have emphasized that anyone under 18 on September 1, 2026 will qualify for these reduced rates, with that date remaining consistent across other age bands. Despite national changes to retirement age, Wolves are maintaining their senior category at 65+.

Commitment to Accessibility and Future Supporters

Wolves Chairman Jeff Shi stated: "We believe it is important that Molineux is accessible, especially for young fans and families, and we have taken this opportunity to reshape our ticketing approach with that in mind. Our discussions with the Fan Advisory Board have been an important part of this process."

Shi added: "Young supporters are central to our future, and it is important that they feel part of Wolves from an early age and can build a lifelong connection with the club. This is about creating a stronger, more unified Wolves, with supporters at the heart of the club."

The chairman has also committed to an average 25 percent reduction for adult season tickets, with exact prices expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Fan Advisory Board Collaboration

Marcus Passant, chair of the Fan Advisory Board and independent supporter representative, commented: "Bringing families and young supporters to Molineux is hugely important. If you want a full stadium and a strong future, you have to make it accessible for the next generation."

Passant continued: "We put some suggestions forward around the bandings and it was really positive to see the club not only listen, but build on them. It felt like they'd taken the themes of what we were saying and improved on them as well."

This collaborative approach between the club and fan representatives has resulted in a pricing structure that aims to foster long-term supporter engagement while addressing affordability concerns that have been raised in recent years.
