The sporting heroes of Fylde have been honoured at a glittering ceremony celebrating the 2025 Fylde Community Sports Awards. An impressive 330 nominations were submitted from across the region, marking an all-time high for the event and showcasing the incredible depth of community sports involvement.
Celebrating Fylde's Sporting Champions
Organised by Fylde Council's Health and Sports Development Team, the awards evening recognised the outstanding contributions of individuals, clubs, schools and organisations that go above and beyond in promoting community sport. From dedicated coaches to inspirational volunteers, the event highlighted the powerful role sport plays in bringing people together and promoting wellbeing throughout Lancashire.
Meet the 2025 Award Winners
The deserving winners across various categories demonstrate the strength and diversity of sporting achievement in the area. Luke Weafer secured Coach of the Year for his work with Sports for All, while Special Olympics Fylde was named Club of the Year. Educational institutions were well represented with Newton Bluecoat Church of England Primary School winning Primary School of the Year and Lytham St Anne's High School taking Secondary School of the Year honours.
Young Achiever of the Year went to Jess Hagon, and the Health and Wellbeing Award was presented to Live Like Ralph. The Healthy Workplace Award was won by Beaverbrooks, recognising their commitment to employee wellbeing through sport.
In the volunteer categories, Stewart Dyson was celebrated as Volunteer of the Year, while the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Suzy Adams for her enduring contribution to community sports in Fylde.
Inspiring Words from Organisers
Jack Waters, Health and Sports Development Officer at Fylde Council, expressed his admiration for all nominees. "This year's awards were truly inspiring," he said. "We saw an all-time high in entry numbers, with over 330 nominations from across Fylde. It was incredibly difficult to whittle these down to a shortlist and the eventual winners were extremely deserving."
Councillor Chris Dixon, lead member for Social Wellbeing, added his congratulations: "From grassroots clubs to individual achievements, each winner demonstrates the strength of sport in Fylde and its power to bring people together, promote wellbeing, and inspire the next generation. You should all be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished - you're an inspiration to us all."
