Birmingham City youngster Aurelien Guernier is on the verge of completing a move to Italian giants AC Milan, according to reports from Italy. Journalist Gianluca di Marzio has stated that negotiations are in the final stages and the teenager is expected to arrive in Milan shortly.
Contract Situation
Guernier is one of seven second-year scholars who have been offered professional terms by Birmingham City. However, the 18-year-old is free to choose his next club, and it appears he has opted for a move to Serie A.
First-Team Involvement
The versatile forward trained regularly with Chris Davies' first team last season but never made an appearance, only being an unused substitute in the victory over QPR in March.
Interest from Other Clubs
After scoring three goals in 15 Premier League 2 matches before turning professional, Guernier attracted attention from clubs both domestically and abroad. French side Strasbourg were credited with interest earlier this month, while Chelsea have also been linked with the player.
Departures from Birmingham City
Birmingham City have seen several talented youngsters leave the club in recent years. Notable examples include Trevan Sanusi and Romelle Donovan, who moved to Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Brentford respectively.
