Jet2 has made a market-leading promise to passengers with summer flights booked, confirming that it will not introduce surcharges on any booked flights or holidays to cover cost increases, such as jet fuel. This assures customers that the price they book is the price they will pay.
Industry-leading position
Amidst speculation that some airlines and travel companies may introduce such surcharges, which would mean their customers facing additional costs after making a booking, Jet2, which flies from Birmingham, has removed the surcharge provision across all flights and holidays, even though the company has never previously applied them.
Today’s announcement means that Jet2, which is rivalled by easyJet, TUI, Ryanair and more, says it has taken an industry-leading position by pledging not to pass such cost increases onto customers after they have booked. This means customers booking with Jet2 can lock in their flight or holiday price with total confidence.
Policy details
The policy applies to all flights and holidays booked through any channel, whether online, via the mobile app, contact centre or independent travel agent. It does not include tourist taxes, which are payable in resort at the time of the holiday and are paid directly to the accommodation provider.
This announcement comes after Jet2 secured Which? Recommended Provider status in seven categories, with Jet2.com receiving the accolade for the past 11 years running. On top of ruling out surcharges, the company also offers flexible payment options on Jet2holidays bookings, with a low £60 per person deposit and part-payment plans such as PayPal Pay in 3.
