Hundreds of bus drivers operating across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands have been honoured for their exemplary commitment to safety behind the wheel.
Record Number of Drivers Recognised for Excellence
In a significant boost for local transport safety, 344 drivers from Stagecoach East Midlands have secured coveted 'Fleet Elite' status in 2025. This marks a substantial rise from the 232 drivers who reached the same elite level in 2024, underscoring a company-wide drive towards greater professionalism and safer roads.
The drivers' performance is continuously monitored by the road safety specialists at GreenRoad. Their technology assesses driving behaviour, with the Fleet Elite accolade awarded to those who consistently demonstrate outstanding safety scores and a true mastery of skilled, fuel-efficient driving.
Decades of Safe Driving Celebrated
Among the high achievers, an impressive 96 local drivers were awarded either 'Grand Master' or 'Master' Fleet Elite status. This recognises those who have maintained the highest standards of safe and economical driving for an incredible 10 years or four years respectively.
In a remarkable feat, 13 drivers managed to achieve a perfect GreenRoad rating of zero for the entire year, highlighting an exceptional level of consistent, incident-free driving.
