A serious road traffic incident in the Kingstanding area of Birmingham has resulted in three people being hospitalised after a car collided with a van before crashing into the front of a residential property. The collision occurred near the junction of Plumstead Road and Aylesbury Crescent at approximately 8.30am on Monday, February 9th.
Emergency Response and Injuries
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 8.25am following reports of a collision involving a Toyota car and a van, with the car subsequently ploughing into a house. Paramedics, including a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), treated three patients from the car at the location.
The injured parties included a woman who was driving the vehicle and two boys who were passengers. One of the boys sustained what were described as potentially serious injuries and received immediate treatment from ambulance staff before being transported to hospital. The woman and the second boy were also injured, though their injuries were not believed to be serious.
Property Damage and Additional Assessment
All three occupants of the car were conveyed to Heartlands Hospital for further assessment and treatment following the dramatic crash. Meanwhile, a boy who was inside the house at the time of the impact was checked over by paramedics at the scene. He did not require hospital treatment and was discharged after receiving self-care advice from medical professionals.
West Midlands Fire Service crews attended the incident, with their Technical Rescue Unit working to shore up the damaged property and make the structure safe following the collision. The emergency services worked collaboratively to manage the aftermath of the accident, which caused significant damage to the residential building.
