The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has issued a warning for UK tourists planning to visit a popular European Union holiday destination from May 30. The FCDO has released new information regarding the upcoming UEFA Champions League Final on 30 May.
Updated Advice for Hungary
In an update to its travel advice for Hungary, the FCDO stated: "The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will take place at Budapest Puskás Arena on Saturday 30 May."
"If you are travelling to Budapest, read our Travel Advice and sign up to FCDO Travel Advice email alerts." British nationals are advised to plan their movements around the city to arrive at the dedicated fan zone in Városliget Park, Heroes Square, or the stadium well before the match begins.
Safety and Security Precautions
UK tourists should follow instructions from local authorities and take care of personal belongings, including passports, especially in crowds and on public transport. The FCDO notes that UEFA advises fans to carry valid original copies of ID, such as passports or national ID cards, for inspection upon entry to the stadium. Driving licenses will not be accepted.
Furthermore, UEFA warns fans not to purchase tickets on the secondary market from unauthorised third parties. Fans who buy tickets this way are likely to be refused entry or ejected from the stadium.
Match Details
Arsenal, aiming for a double after winning the Premier League, will face PSG in Budapest. However, for the first time in 34 years, the Champions League final will not be free to watch, as TNT Sports has secured the broadcasting rights. The cheapest ticket available as of May 21 is £98.90. The match kicks off at 5pm BST on Saturday, May 30.
