Singer and actress Lily Allen has told fans she is "happy to be alive" after a frightening traffic incident where a heavy goods vehicle forced her off the road.
Scary Encounter on the Road
The 40-year-old star revealed the scare on Instagram, sharing a photo of the visible scratches on her car. She wrote that she "could have done without an HGV running me off the road" but added it was otherwise a "relatively good start to 2026." Allen's new Porsche appears to be a recent purchase, following a self-confessed spree of buying luxury items.
A New Chapter After Marriage Breakdown
The incident comes during a period of significant personal and professional change for Allen. She is reportedly searching for a new home in Notting Hill, following the breakdown of her marriage to Stranger Things star David Harbour last year. This personal upheaval directly inspired her critically acclaimed fifth album, 'West End Girl', which she wrote and recorded in just ten days.
The album, her first since 2018, became a major success, reaching No. 2 in the UK charts and standing out as a pop culture moment of 2025. Allen told Vogue the record was "inspired by what went on" in her marriage, though she clarified that not everything on it should be taken as "gospel." She created it in December 2024 as a way to process events in her life.

Professionally, Allen is riding a wave of success. She is scheduled to perform the 'West End Girl' album in full during a sold-out UK theatre run in 2026, before taking the show to arenas. The singer recently discussed her luxury purchases on her podcast, 'Miss Me with Miquita Oliver', stating, "You've got to treat yourself and mark the moment. I'm convinced I'm a billionaire. Handbags have been bought, jewels and a car has been bought."
