Met Office Warns Birmingham of Thundery Outbreaks Over May Bank Holiday
Met Office Warns of Thundery Outbreaks in Birmingham

The sun has been shining across Birmingham this week, but in typical fashion, the weather could be about to change during the bank holiday weekend. This weekend marks the May bank holiday, with millions of Brits enjoying an extra day off work.

While the Met Office has said the weather will 'stay warm' over the coming days, it has warned Brummies to watch out for 'thundery outbreaks'. The forecast for tonight states: 'A settled and clear night to come with gusty winds to start with but easing through the night. Staying relatively mild with some places staying in double figures. Minimum temperature 7 °C.'

As for Friday, they continue: 'More sunshine on Friday with lighter winds. Another very warm day in the sunshine an isolated shower in the afternoon, could turn thundery in the west by the evening. Maximum temperature 24 °C.'

The Met Office's outlook for Saturday to Monday forecasts: 'Turning more unsettled into the weekend with more showers and possible thundery outbreaks. Staying warm for the coming days.' Brummies will have to hope the weather remains warm and the skies remain clear.

In other news, a revived 'Brumderground' system pledge has come under fire, but backers say 'it's time'. Additionally, six of the 'worst' 10 Midlands GP surgeries are in one borough.
