Birmingham City FC owners Knighthead have already invested £100 million in purchasing the former Wheels site in East Birmingham as part of their wider Sports Quarter vision. The transport projects covered by the funding include Adderley Park Railway Station, the Metro Sports Quarter Extension, the East Birmingham North Solihull Mass Rapid Transit Corridor, and the Birmingham Eastern Ring Road Project. The development is expected to create around 8,500 jobs across the area.
