The summer transfer window has been open for a week, and Aston Villa are at the centre of multiple rumours involving forwards Nick Woltemade and Ibrahim Mbaye, as well as speculation over Morgan Rogers' future and Harvey Elliott's return to Liverpool.
Villa Chase Newcastle's Nick Woltemade
Aston Villa are one of three Champions League clubs interested in signing Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade. The 24-year-old German international is currently representing his country at the World Cup. Newcastle are reportedly open to letting Woltemade leave after just one season, setting his transfer value at €65 million.
However, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe insisted in May that Woltemade remains in his plans. “I have said so many times, I really value and really like him,” Howe said. “We are working really hard with him to help him. We will continue to develop his game, and I think he's got a really bright future here.”
Morgan Rogers Attracts £85m Interest
Arsenal and Chelsea are both reportedly prepared to offer around £85 million to sign Aston Villa's star playmaker Morgan Rogers. Villa want to keep the 23-year-old for their upcoming Champions League campaign, but European financial rules and a 20% sell-on fee owed to his former club complicate the situation.
Harvey Elliott Returns to Liverpool
Midfielder Harvey Elliott is preparing to fight for his place at Liverpool under new manager Andoni Iraola following a frustrating loan spell at Aston Villa. Elliott's temporary stay at Villa Park did not become permanent as he failed to trigger a purchase clause. He has now been promised a clean slate back at Anfield.
Villa Monitoring Ibrahim Mbaye
Aston Villa are monitoring 18-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye, who is reportedly unhappy with his lack of first-team playing time in France. The talented teenager, currently representing Senegal at the World Cup, is considering a move to the Premier League to secure a more regular role.
