Dalesway Yorkshire Gets £850k Funding for Growth

Dalesway Yorkshire Accelerates Growth with Major HSBC Investment

An off-road driving experience company based in Skipton is poised for significant expansion after securing a substantial six-figure funding deal. Dalesway Yorkshire has successfully obtained an £850,000 funding package from HSBC UK, enabling the acquisition of property within the prestigious 1,400-acre Coniston Hotel Country Estate in North Yorkshire.

Strategic Expansion and New Facilities

The investment will facilitate the purchase and development of a new 3,000 square foot steel frame workshop adjacent to a former barn. This modern, purpose-built space is designed to support the company's growing training operations. The comprehensive refit includes the installation of new windows, underfloor heating, an open-plan layout, and the creation of mezzanine office space.

Dalesway Yorkshire operates a Land Rover Experience and driver training centre, specialising in 4x4, ATV, and trailer training for guests. The company also provides professional training for individuals seeking recognised off-road driving qualifications. Its fleet comprises 24 vehicles, including a collection of heritage and contemporary models.

Job Security and Economic Impact

The expansion initiative will safeguard 35 existing jobs, with the potential for additional employment opportunities as demand increases. Company directors anticipate a 10% year-on-year increase in turnover, driven by enhanced capacity and the security of owning their new premises. The business is scheduled to relocate to the new base by September 1 this year.

Leadership Perspectives on the Milestone

Jonathan Rumboll, director at Dalesway Yorkshire, expressed enthusiasm about the development. "Securing this new facility marks a major milestone for our business," he stated. "Having ownership to reinvest and upgrade the premises will give us the space, control, and long-term stability we need to continue developing our driving experience offering."

He added, "The funding from HSBC UK has allowed us to transform a disused barn in a highly sought-after location, enabling us to provide a high-quality, modern centre that reflects the professionalism of our team and the expectations of our clients."

Ben Carver, relationship manager at HSBC UK, highlighted the broader economic benefits. "We're proud to support Dalesway Yorkshire as it expands its operations in North Yorkshire," he said. "The new facility will provide the business with a purpose-built training centre, supporting local jobs and creating a platform for future expansion."

Carver concluded, "This is a strong example of a specialist operator with growth ambitions, and we're pleased our funding is helping to drive forward long-term plans."
