McDonald's Big Arch Burger Returns Permanently to UK Menus on January 5
McDonald's Big Arch Burger Back for Good in UK

McDonald's has announced a major menu change that will delight burger fans across the nation. The fast-food giant has confirmed that its popular Big Arch burger is making a permanent comeback to restaurants in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Permanent Return of a Fan Favourite

The official return date is set for Monday, January 5. Unlike its initial limited-time offering, the Big Arch will now hold a permanent spot on the menu. Ben Fox, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for McDonald's UK and Ireland, stated: "The Big Arch® is back for good. When we first introduced it, customers voted with their feet and made it clear they loved the unmistakably McDonald’s taste, the generous use of ingredients and the iconic Big Arch sauce." He added that the burger has "earned its permanent place on the menu alongside the Big Mac."

What's in the Big Arch Burger and How Much Does It Cost?

The returning burger features a signature combination of ingredients. It contains two 100 per cent British and Irish beef patties, topped with slices of white cheddar cheese. The burger is further loaded with crispy onions, fresh onions, shredded lettuce, and crunchy pickles. The entire creation is smothered in the special Big Arch sauce and served in a poppy and sesame seed-topped bun.

Customers will be able to purchase the Big Arch as a standalone item or as part of a meal. Pricing is estimated at £8.79 for the burger alone, and around £10.69 for a meal, though McDonald's notes that these prices may vary slightly depending on the specific UK location.

A Burger Designed to Stay

The Big Arch burger was first introduced to UK customers in June of this year. Its immediate popularity and positive customer feedback have directly led to this decision to make it a permanent fixture. This move indicates a strategic shift for McDonald's, suggesting they are willing to expand their core menu based on demonstrated consumer demand for new, substantial burger options. The return marks a significant win for fans who campaigned for its comeback after its initial trial period ended.
