He wrote: "Do you use the Lloyds, Bank of Scotland or Halifax apps? People have been messaging me this morning of being shown other peoples transactions. I want to see how widespread this is. Has it happened to you. If so" a) What are you seeing? Which app. "b) If it is someone elses transactions does it give any of their details too (name, account number etc)?"
Banks Acknowledge Technical Glitch and Investigate
Halifax has responded to customer inquiries, stating that the bank is dealing with a "technical glitch" and is currently investigating the issue. In a message to customers, they advised: "We are currently investigating the issue, and it may be the result of a technical glitch. In the meantime, please try logging out and logging back in and this should resolve the problem. Rest assured, your account remains completely safe with us."
Lloyds Banking Group has also acknowledged the problem, writing: "We are now aware some customers are having issues with viewing transactions & balances right now. Bear with us as we fix this. If you'd like to make a complaint, you'll find the ways in which you can make a complaint here." Similarly, Bank of Scotland confirmed they are aware of issues with viewing transactions and balances and are working on a fix.
