Ceiling Collapse at Popular Benidorm Hotel Injures Seven Diners on Easter Sunday
A tragic incident unfolded at a well-known Benidorm hotel on Easter Sunday, as a ceiling collapse reportedly struck approximately 60 diners during their meal. The event occurred at the Poseidón Palace, a three-star hotel popular with tourists in the Costa Blanca resort area of Spain.
Injuries and Hospitalizations Reported
At least seven people sustained injuries when sections of plasterboard and air conditioning ducts fell onto guests. Among those affected were an eight-year-old boy and a 78-year-old man, both of whom were taken to hospital but later discharged after receiving medical treatment.
Five additional individuals, ranging in age from 33 to 80, were also hospitalized. One of these patients remains under observation at Hospital de la Marina Baixa, according to local media reports. The exact cause of the collapse, which happened on April 5, 2026, is still under investigation and remains unclear at this time.
