The Post Office has launched a new credit card specifically designed for holidaymakers, offering fee-free overseas spending and six months of interest-free purchases. The card comes with no foreign transaction fees, meaning customers will not face additional charges when making purchases abroad or shopping online with overseas retailers.
Key Features of the New Card
The Travel Credit Card from the Post Office includes benefits such as no cash advance fees on Travel Money purchased from the Post Office. Sean Morley, head of financial services at the Post Office, expressed excitement about the launch: "We're thrilled to launch our new Travel Credit Card, packed with benefits we know customers really value. With features like no foreign transaction fees and no cash advance fees on Travel Money bought from Post Office, it truly stands out in a competitive market."
Part of a Broader Transformation
This initiative is part of the Post Office's Transformation Programme, aimed at increasing revenue and strengthening support for postmasters across the UK. Morley added, "By expanding our range of financial services, we're not only helping customers get more from their money but also generating income that supports postmasters and communities across the UK. This is just the start... we're excited about what's to come."
Important Warnings for Customers
However, customers have been warned that the card comes with a representative 34.9% variable APR. This means if balances are not paid off within the first six months, interest costs can balloon significantly. Despite this, the card offers the removal of cash advance fees when used to purchase Post Office Travel Money, making it an attractive option for travellers.
