British Burger Awards 2025 Winners Revealed

The crème de la crème of the UK's burger scene has been officially recognised, with several West Midlands establishments scooping top prizes at the inaugural British Burger Awards 2025.

The prestigious ceremony, held at the Novotel Centre in Birmingham on Monday, November 17, celebrated the nation's most passionate patty purveyors and innovative burger businesses.

West Midlands Takes a Bite of Victory

The awards highlighted excellence on both a regional and national scale. For local burger enthusiasts, the Best of Birmingham title was awarded to BRGR BOX on Essex Street in Southside.

Meanwhile, Boo on Alcester Road in Moseley received an 'Outstanding Achievement' accolade, and HANBAO on Floodgate Street in Deritend was 'Recognised for Excellence'.

The coveted Best of the West Midlands crown went to Libertine Burger in Leamington Spa. Grill N Shake on Hagley Road West in Oldbury was handed the 'Outstanding Achievement' award for the region, and Beef 'N' Buns on Station Street in Solihull was 'Recognised for Excellence'.

National Accolades for Local Favourites

The West Midlands' success story extended far beyond the regional categories. Libertine Burger's Rugby outlet achieved a significant national win, securing the title for Best Restaurant Burger across the entire United Kingdom.

In the highly competitive Burger of the Year – People’s Choice category, Grill Box on Windmill Hill in Halesowen earned an 'Outstanding Achievement' award, effectively making it the national runner-up. The overall winner in this category was Burger Drop, which has outlets in Edinburgh, Newcastle, and Manchester.

Further cementing the region's reputation for burger brilliance, Burger Shop in Worcester's Cherry Tree Walk won the award for Best Burger from an Independent Chain (with 10 or fewer locations). It was a double victory for Burger Shop, which was also 'Recognised for Excellence' in the People's Choice category.

Shrewsbury's The Beefy Boys on High Street also shone, receiving the 'Outstanding Achievement' award in the same independent chain category.

A Celebration of UK Burger Culture

Irfan Younis, a spokesperson for the British Burger Awards, praised the incredible talent on display. He stated, “The businesses shortlisted for these awards represent the very best of the UK’s vibrant burger scene, from gourmet innovators to beloved independents serving up unforgettable flavours.”

He added that the celebration was about recognising the creativity, passion and hard work behind every bun and patty, honouring the outstanding talent that is shaping the nation's burger culture.

Beyond the West Midlands, other national winners included B.U.N in Manchester for Best Independent Burger Joint, Bustler Nottingham for Best Street Food Burger Vendor, and Meat The Vegans in London for Best Veg or Vegan Burger Restaurant. The People’s Choice Burger Brand in the UK was given to Chicken Cottage.
