Disneyland Paris has offered a spectacular sneak peek into its highly anticipated World of Frozen, culminating in a breathtaking drone show that finally revealed the official opening date for the reimagined Disney Adventure World park.
A Nighttime Spectacle Reveals the Date
The sky above Adventure Bay was recently transformed into a canvas of light and colour. In a stunning nighttime event, hundreds of drones assembled to form the iconic World of Frozen logo before seamlessly shifting to reveal the much-awaited opening day: 29th March 2026. The dazzling aerial display was perfectly mirrored in the waters of the bay below, creating a magical moment for all in attendance.
This marks the beginning of a new era for the resort, as the completion of Disney Adventure World will see the park almost double in size. Disney promises that the new experiences will push the boundaries of storytelling, offering guests unprecedented immersion.
Building the Icy Kingdom of Arendelle
At the heart of the new land stands the monumental North Mountain, a towering structure reaching 36 metres high. The construction of this centrepiece was a feat of engineering and artistry, requiring 400 tons of metal before being meticulously hand-sculpted from concrete and painted to achieve its realistic, snow-capped appearance.
Perched at its summit is Elsa’s glittering Ice Palace, which will be the highest point in the entire World of Frozen. Matthieu Robin, lead show creator for Disneyland Paris, described the project as their "biggest expansion ever". He shared a personal favourite spot, saying, "My personal favourite moment is simply standing by the lake, taking in the view of Arendelle from across the water."
Immersive Experiences and Royal Encounters
Guests stepping into World of Frozen will be transported directly into the story. They can explore Arendelle Castle, inspired by traditional Scandinavian architecture, and discover how Anna and Elsa live behind its walls. The area will feature 34 state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronic figures to bring the world to life.
Beyond the attractions, visitors can look forward to:
- Immersive dining experiences
- Bespoke shopping opportunities
- A royal encounter with Anna and Elsa themselves
The expansion also introduces a brand-new nighttime spectacular staged across the central lake at Adventure Bay. This show will combine soaring drone choreography, dramatic water screens, and a brand-new musical score recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
John Mauro, portfolio executive creative producer for Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, emphasised the holistic experience, noting that even the park entrance at the transformed Studio 1, now called World Premiere, begins the storytelling. He expressed his hope that guests will leave thinking, "Wow – they’ve really created something incredible here."
