Historic Law Firm Opens New Office in Cheltenham

A historic law firm with origins dating back to 1810 has expanded its presence in Gloucestershire by opening a new office in Cheltenham. Warwickshire-based Brethertons announced that the new site in Montpellier is part of its ongoing regional expansion strategy, aimed at improving access to legal services across the county.

Fourth Permanent Location

This opening follows the recent establishment of the firm's Bloxham office, bringing Brethertons' total number of permanent locations to four, including Rugby, Bicester, Bloxham, and Cheltenham. The company stated that this expansion marks a significant milestone in its long history and reflects continued investment in both client offerings and regional presence across Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, and Gloucestershire.

Services Offered

The Cheltenham office will provide a range of legal services, including wills, trusts, and estate planning, court of protection work, family law, divorce and finance, life-changing injury claims, and property services such as residential conveyancing.

Alison McCormack, chief executive of Brethertons, said the new office allows the firm to "meet clients where they are" in environments that "reflect who we are as a firm." She added, "It’s an exciting step forward for both our teams and the local communities we’re proud to support."

Linda Jones, director of legal services, who has been with the firm for over 37 years, commented: "We may be new to Cheltenham, but supporting clients with their legal needs is something Brethertons has done for generations. We’re delighted to bring that experience and personal approach to the Gloucestershire community."

Recent Recognition

Earlier this year, Brethertons sponsored the Cheltenham Literary Festival and was named one of The Times' 'Best Law Firms' for the second consecutive year, underscoring its reputation in the legal sector.
