The parent company behind a popular group of UK holiday parks has collapsed into administration, leaving 11 resorts across the country facing an uncertain future.
Which Holiday Parks Are Affected?
Cove Communities Holiday Park UK Holdco Limited (HPUK), the parent firm operating under the Cove UK brand, has formally entered administration. The collapse directly impacts eight parks owned by Argyll Holidays, alongside three other well-known resorts.
The full list of holiday parks now under administration includes: Solway Holiday Park, Gwel an Mor Resort, Springwood Holiday Park, Drimsynie Holiday Village, Hunters Quay Holiday Village, Loch Awe Holiday Park, Loch Eck Caravan Park, Loch Eck Country Lodges, Loch Lomond Holiday Park, St Catherines Caravan Park, and Stratheck Holiday Park.
In a statement, a Cove UK spokesperson confirmed that Seal Bay Resort in West Sussex is not part of the administration process and continues to operate as normal.
What Happens Now for Guests and Owners?
Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal Europe has been appointed to handle the administration. They have stated that their immediate priority is to ensure a smooth transition and maintain stability.
"We are working to ensure day-to-day operations continue with minimal disruption," a representative from Alvarez & Marsal said. "Owners, residents and holidaymakers should not be impacted, and can contact the site managers with any questions they may have."
For anyone with existing bookings at any of the affected parks, the official advice from administrators is to get in contact directly with the site manager for the latest information. The administrators are also actively exploring sale options for the business.
Understanding the Corporate Collapse
The administration applies to the holding company and several of its operational subsidiaries. These include Cove Communities Venture 2 Gwel an Mor OpCo Ltd, Cove Communities Venture 2 Solway OpCo Ltd, Cove Communities Venture 2 Springwood OpCo Ltd, and Cove Communities Venture 2 Argyle OpCo Ltd.
Despite the financial collapse of these entities, the appointed administrators are striving to keep the parks running while a buyer is sought, aiming to protect jobs and honour existing commitments to holidaymakers and property owners where possible.
