McDonald's has initiated a significant menu overhaul across its UK restaurants today, removing eight popular international items to create space for an entirely new festive selection.
What's Leaving the McDonald's Menu
The fast-food giant is waving goodbye to its global flavour offerings, with the cuts taking effect from Wednesday, November 25. Disappearing items include the Maple BBQ & Bacon Double Quarter Pounder from Canada, Australia's Pineapple McSpicy, and Japan's much-loved Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets.
Also being removed are Poland's Sour Cream & Black Pepper McShaker Fries, the Mac & Cheese Triangles from The United Arab Emirates, Indonesia's Choco Caramel Pie, the Chocolate or Caramel Pretzel McFlurry, and the Sakura x Sprite drink.
The Festive Replacement Arrives
Fortunately for customers, the disappearing acts make way for an exciting Christmas lineup launching tomorrow, November 26. The star attraction is undoubtedly The Grinch Meal, available as a Big Mac, nine Chicken McNuggets, or McPlant meal.
This special festive bundle includes the new Grinched McShaker Fries, described as perfect for pickle lovers, a drink, and a pair of limited-edition Mismatched Grinch X McDonald's Socks.
For those seeking alternatives to the green festive character, the Cheesy Chicken Stack returns alongside several new beverages including Frozen Grinch Lemonade, a Coconut Latte, and a hot chocolate version of the coconut treat.
Sweet Treats and Returning Favourites
Dessert lovers haven't been forgotten in this seasonal shake-up. McDonald's is introducing two new McFlurry varieties: the Mischief McFlurry with ice cream, Smarties, Christmas trees and strawberry sauce, and the Chocolate Brownie McFlurry featuring brownie cookie pieces and chocolate sauce.
Completing the sweet offerings is the Grumble Pie, filled with apple, cranberry and custard, all wrapped in distinctive green pastry. The menu revival also sees the return of customer favourites Cheese Melt Dippers and the Big Tasty.
This strategic menu rotation demonstrates McDonald's continuing efforts to keep its offerings fresh and seasonal while capitalising on popular festive themes.
