Dough and Fire Brings Rustic Italian Charm to Moseley
New 'Dough and Fire' pizzeria opens in Moseley

A Slice of Italy Arrives in Moseley

A warm and rustic new pizzeria has ignited its ovens in the heart of Moseley, filling the space left vacant by the closure of Peacer. Dough and Fire officially opened its doors to the public on Friday, November 21, bringing authentic Neapolitan-style pizza to the vibrant Birmingham suburb.

The 35-seat restaurant at 4 Woodbridge Road, Moseley, B13 8EJ, is designed to transport diners straight to a traditional Italian pizzeria. The team is committed to using a mix of imported premium ingredients and locally-sourced options to create their handcrafted pizzas.

An Authentic Menu and Theatrical Flair

The menu at Dough and Fire caters to all tastes, featuring a range of classic and contemporary pizzas. Diners can choose from favourites like the simple Margherita, the spicy Diavola, or the meaty Prosciutto. There are also dedicated vegetarian and vegan options available.

Beyond pizza, the offering includes traditional Italian starters such as Arancini and Bruschetta. For dessert, classics like Tiramisu, Affogato, and authentic Italian Gelato provide a sweet finish. The restaurant is fully licensed, with a well-stocked bar serving house wines, beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic mocktails.

Adding a dynamic element to the kitchen is head chef Ahmed Noureldin, who is known for his pizza-spinning theatrics. He brings an impressive 27 years of culinary experience to Dough and Fire, having started his career in Italy and worked at renowned pizzerias including Al Forno Pizza, Franco Manca, and BOX.

Driven by Passion and Community Spirit

The venture is led by founder Armaan Rafique, who brings valuable experience from his previous roles at Rudy's and Fazenda. Having started as a chef, he now takes on the position of business development manager for his own establishment.

"I'm excited to open my first pizza restaurant in Moseley," Armaan said. "Moseley's community spirit and support for independents made it the perfect place for Dough and Fire. We're committed to serving authentic Neapolitan pizza using the best ingredients and offering warm, welcoming hospitality so every guest feels at home."

The opening marks a new chapter for the unit, which had been empty since Peacer closed back in February after five years of operation. Dough and Fire's opening hours are 10am until 11pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am until 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
