In a major move set to redefine convenience for British shoppers, supermarket giant Asda has announced a groundbreaking, UK-first partnership with delivery firm Evri. The collaboration will see parcel collection and return services rolled out across Asda's entire estate of over 1,000 stores.

A New Era of Supermarket Convenience

The new service means customers can now seamlessly combine their grocery shopping with collecting or returning online orders. This initiative is being introduced at over 300 Asda locations immediately, including Express convenience sites, supermarkets, and larger superstores. The rollout is part of a strategic plan that will see Parcelshops established in all 1,200 Asda stores across the UK by April next year.

This expansion is a direct result of a £50 million investment from Evri, which was initially revealed in July. The courier company has ambitious plans to double its network of Parcelshops and Lockers, aiming for an impressive 25,000 locations by 2030.

Martijn de Lange, the Chief Executive of Evri, emphasised the strategic importance of the partnership. He stated that the agreement with the fellow Leeds-based retailer strengthens their commitment to building a delivery network tailored for modern UK consumers, offering them greater choice, convenience, and control over their parcels.

Echoing this sentiment, Chris Hall, Vice President of Logistics at Asda, highlighted how the service aligns with Asda's customer-first approach. He noted that the new partnership provides unmatched flexibility, allowing customers to handle their Evri parcels whether they are making a quick stop for a pint of milk or undertaking a full weekly shop.

The launch is perfectly timed for the upcoming festive season, when parcel traffic traditionally surges. For millions of Britons, the chore of waiting in for a delivery or making a separate trip to a post office will now be a thing of the past. This integration of retail and logistics services marks a significant step in the evolution of the UK's high street and supermarket landscape, placing unparalleled convenience directly into the hands of consumers.
