Frozen food retailer Iceland has announced a major nationwide initiative to help households manage their finances in the tough post-Christmas period. The supermarket giant is launching its Mega Deals Event across more than 900 stores, featuring multi-buy offers starting from just £4.80.
Addressing the January Financial Squeeze
The move comes in direct response to concerning research commissioned by Iceland. Their study found that 32 per cent of people plan to serve smaller meal portions to save money this month. Even more starkly, the data reveals that a staggering 10 million adults across the UK intend to skip meals or eat less in January due to financial pressures.
Richard Walker, Executive Chairman of Iceland Foods, stated: "January is a tough month for millions of families across the country. We know this is the point in the year when households are cutting back wherever they can, worrying about the weeks ahead and trying to make every pound work harder."
What Shoppers Can Save With the Mega Deals
The event marks the return of some of Iceland's most popular value offers. Shoppers can take advantage of a variety of promotions designed to make groceries more affordable. The headline offer is the return of the famous four items for £4.80 deal.
Other promotions include buy two get one free deals, five for £5 bundles, half-price offers, and discounts that are even better than half price. Iceland estimates that by utilising these deals, customers could slash up to £7.20 off their weekly grocery shop.

Walker explained that the Mega Deals Event is about the retailer doing its bit to help customers stock up, reduce waste and get through January "with a little more certainty and a lot less stress."
