McDonald's has rolled out a new 'secret menu' for January 2026, but the return of two popular burgers has been accompanied by noticeable price increases. The fast-food giant replaced its festive Grinch menu with the new selection on Monday, 5th January.
Returning Favourites Face Price Hikes
The headline returnee is the Chicken Big Mac, featuring two chicken patties, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and signature Big Mac sauce. However, customers will now pay £5.59 for the burger on its own. This marks an increase of 50p compared to its last appearance in the summer of 2025.
According to industry analysis, this means the burger's price has risen by a substantial £1.50 since it first debuted on menus in February 2022.
Big Arch Becomes Permanent Fixture
Another major change sees the Big Arch burger becoming a permanent menu item from today. Known for its two British beef patties, white cheddar, crispy onions, and special sauce, its popularity has secured its spot.
This permanence comes with a higher price tag. The burger now costs 80p more than its debut price last summer, when it was £7.99. The price of a Big Arch medium meal has also increased, now costing £1.69 more than the previous £9.99.
What Else is on the New Secret Menu?
The menu expansion on 5th January includes several other new items:
- Chicken Cheeseburger (£3.89)
- Big Mac Dipping Sauce
- Espresso Milkshake (£3.69)
- Apple Pie Mini McFlurry (£2.99)
A more divisive addition is the Surf N' Turf burger, which has already sparked mixed reactions across the country. The full impact of these price changes on customer demand remains to be seen as the new menu settles in.
