Tesco and Royal Mail Launch Six-Month 24/7 Locker Trial
Tesco has announced a new collaboration with Royal Mail to trial 24/7 locker services in select UK stores for the next six months. This initiative aims to enhance convenience for customers by providing round-the-clock access to parcel collection and drop-off points.
Details of the Partnership and Services
The trial involves nine Tesco stores across the UK, where Royal Mail lockers will be installed alongside existing InPost lockers. These lockers feature label printing and QR code services, designed to streamline the process for shoppers who need to send or return parcels without access to a printer.
To use the service, customers must pay for postage online and obtain a QR code, or request one from their returns company. This QR code is then used to access the lockers, making the system efficient and user-friendly.
Statements from Royal Mail and Tesco
Jack Clarkson, Managing Director for Out-of-Home & Commercial Excellence at Royal Mail, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He stated, "We are really excited to bring Royal Mail lockers to Tesco stores. This partnership is another example of how we are making it easier than ever for our customers to collect, send and return parcels with us."
A Tesco spokesperson added, "We're pleased to introduce Royal Mail lockers across a selected small number of stores. Working with Royal Mail, in addition to our existing locker partner InPost, will give even more customers a convenient way to collect and drop off their parcels as part of their shopping trip."

- 2,600 lockers
