Apple iPhone 17e Pre-Orders Launch Today with Savvy 61p-a-Day Offer

Pre-orders for Apple's latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, have officially opened today, bringing a range of attractive offers to consumers. The tech giant unveiled this new model on Monday, March 2, positioning it as a more accessible version of the flagship iPhone 17. Priced at £599, the iPhone 17e is £200 cheaper than its premium counterpart, yet it promises powerful performance and advanced features at exceptional value.

Sky Mobile's Affordable Payment Plan

Sky Mobile is making waves with a compelling pre-order deal for the iPhone 17e. Shoppers who place their order early can secure the device for just 61p per day. This offer is part of Sky's monthly plans, where the 256GB variant costs £19 per month with a £12 upfront payment. Over a 31-day month, this translates to approximately 61p daily. For those needing more storage, the 512GB model is available at £25 per month with the same upfront cost, equating to around 80p per day.

Key details of Sky's contract include a 36-month term, though subscribers can upgrade to a newer handset after 24 months without extra charges. The plan comes with a 100MB data allowance, but users are advised to consider upgrading to a larger package as this may be quickly consumed. Other providers like Three and Vodafone have announced they will stock the iPhone 17e, but pricing details are yet to be revealed. For outright purchases, retailers such as Amazon and Argos are expected to charge the standard £599 at launch.

Enhanced Features and Specifications

The iPhone 17e marks the second entry in Apple's wallet-friendly 'e' range, following last year's iPhone 16e. It boasts significant improvements, including double the base storage at 256GB for the same price. Powered by Apple's latest A19 processor—the same chip found in the standard iPhone 17—the device delivers rapid performance and advanced Artificial Intelligence capabilities.

Premium specifications include a 48MP Fusion camera system capable of capturing crystal-clear photographs and 4K Dolby Vision video. It runs on the pre-installed iOS 26 software and features enhanced Apple Intelligence functionality. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display is fortified with Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple claims offers three times better scratch resistance than previous generations.

One minor drawback is the battery life, which provides up to 26 hours of video playback compared to 30 hours on the standard iPhone 17. In terms of design, Apple has introduced a new 'soft pink' color variant alongside the classic black and white options, expanding consumer choices.

Apple's Vision for the iPhone 17e

Announcing the launch, Kaiann Drance, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, emphasized the device's value proposition. "The iPhone 17e combines powerful performance and features our users love at an exceptional value, making it a compelling option for customers looking to upgrade to the iPhone 17 family," she stated.

Drance added, "We know our customers want a product that will last, and iPhone 17e delivers just that. With A19 for incredible performance, double the entry storage, a smarter camera system, and enhanced durability, iPhone 17e is designed to stay fast, secure, and valuable for years to come." Apple describes the iPhone 17e as 'a whole lot of iPhone for a lot less,' targeting budget-conscious consumers without compromising on premium features.

Pre-orders are now live ahead of the official release on March 11, offering an early opportunity to secure this affordable yet high-performing smartphone.
