Amazon Kindle Support Withdrawn for Older Models, New Devices on Limited-Time Sale
Amazon has announced the withdrawal of support for older Kindle devices, specifically those released in or before 2012, effective from May 20. This change means owners of these models will no longer be able to purchase, borrow, or download new books on their devices, though they can still read previously downloaded content and access their accounts.
Affected Kindle Models and User Options
The full list of devices impacted includes the Kindle 1st generation from 2007, Kindle 2nd generation from 2009, Kindle DX and Kindle Keyboard from 2010, Kindle 4 and Kindle Touch from 2011, and Kindle Paperwhite 1st generation and Kindle Fire models from 2012. Users with these devices have two main choices: buy as many books as possible before the deadline or upgrade to a newer Kindle model.
