Fundraisers Complete Gruelling 135-Mile Walk for Children's Charity

A dedicated team of five fundraisers has successfully completed an extraordinary 135-mile walking challenge, trekking from Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. The effort aims to raise vital funds for children and families supported by The Little Ted Foundation, a small local charity.

Five Days of Determination and Blisters

Setting off on Easter Sunday, the group—including Lee, founder of The Little Ted Foundation, along with Ash, Jarrod, Ralph, and Ste—embarked on five gruelling days of walking. They covered approximately 100 miles along canal paths, with the remainder on roads and city streets. Battling sore feet, exhaustion, and numerous blisters, the team pushed through the physical and mental demands of the journey with a clear goal: to make a meaningful difference for those in need.

Essential Support Along the Route

Supporting them every step of the way was Jess Neal, co-founder of The Little Ted Foundation, who followed the route to provide essential supplies, snacks, and what the team affectionately called 'marching fuel'. Her unwavering support proved invaluable in maintaining high spirits and energy levels during the most challenging stretches of the walk.

Biggest Challenge Yet for the Group

This walk marks the most significant challenge the group has ever undertaken, both in terms of distance and sheer determination. As they near the end of their fundraising campaign, they are just £1,500 short of their £10,000 target—a milestone they are eager to reach with continued community support.

Creating Lasting Memories for Families

Funds raised will go directly towards creating around 25 'memory-making experiences' for families supported by The Little Ted Foundation. All funds are directed straight to the families, providing precious moments of joy and togetherness for children facing difficult circumstances. These experiences offer families memories that will last a lifetime, bringing comfort and happiness when it is needed most.

Quotes from the Walkers

One of the walkers shared: "It was the toughest challenge I've ever done, but what kept me going was knowing that I'm in a privileged position to be able to help others who need a little helping hand." With the finish line reached but the fundraising goal still within grasp, the team is calling on the public to help push them over the line and maximise the impact of their incredible achievement.

How to Support the Cause

Donations can still be made to support this vital cause. Every contribution will help bring comfort, joy, and lasting memories to families who need it most, ensuring that the efforts of these determined fundraisers have the greatest possible impact.
