Asda Offers Free £100 Will Service with BBC Children in Need Donation Option
Asda's Free Will Service: Act Before Sunday for £100 Off

Supermarket giant Asda is making a crucial financial planning tool accessible to all, urging customers to take advantage of its free Will writing service before a key deadline this Sunday. The initiative, which normally costs £100, is being offered at no charge, providing a significant saving ahead of the Christmas period.

A Will for Good: Supporting BBC Children in Need

This generous offer comes with an added philanthropic dimension. Customers using the service will have the option to include a gift to BBC Children in Need, Asda's long-standing charity partner. This can be arranged as a set cash amount or a percentage of their estate, allowing individuals to make a lasting difference for vulnerable children across the UK.

The initiative follows Asda’s recent celebration of raising an impressive £3,106,401.25 for this year's BBC Children in Need Appeal. Any gifts received through wills will help fund vital programmes, such as the Fuelling Potential Programme, which tackles holiday hunger by providing nutritious meals and enriching activities.

Tackling the UK's Will Writing Gap

New research highlighted by Asda reveals a concerning statistic: only around 44% of the UK's adult population currently has a will in place. This leaves a majority potentially vulnerable to intestacy laws, meaning the state decides how their assets are distributed after their passing.

Jenny Maden, Head of Insurance at Asda Money, commented on the initiative, stating: "Through this new offering, we are helping our customers take control of how their assets and belongings are distributed after their death, whilst also having the opportunity to make a meaningful charitable donation to a fantastic cause."

By completely removing the financial barrier, Asda aims to give hard-working families peace of mind and practical support, helping them take this important step in safeguarding their loved ones' futures while supporting a worthy cause.
