Two arrested over Stirchley hit-and-run

West Midlands Police are preparing to question a man in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident in Stirchley. The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered serious leg injuries after being struck by a van near Pershore Road on Thursday evening, May 14. The vehicle fled the scene but was later recovered on nearby Prince Road and is now being examined by forensic teams.

Arrests in London

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding following the collision. He was detained by Metropolitan Police officers in London on Saturday morning, along with another man, as they arrived to attend the Unite the Kingdom rally. The second man was also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the same incident.

Police investigation

West Midlands Police confirmed that the arrested man will be questioned by their officers in due course. The victim remains in hospital receiving treatment for his leg injuries. Authorities are reviewing CCTV and social media footage to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
