Boston Shopping Centre's Santa Grotto Raises £1,500 for Charity

Pescod Square Shopping Centre in Boston has made a generous charitable donation of £1,500, following the success of its festive Santa's Grotto which attracted almost 400 local children during the Christmas period. The heartwarming initiative not only created magical memories for families but also raised vital funds for important causes within the community.

Substantial Donations to Support Local Charities

The shopping centre has donated £1,000 to the Mayor's Charity Fund, with an additional £500 contribution going to Dementia UK. These funds were raised through the popular grotto which operated every weekend in the lead-up to Christmas, forming part of the Boston Christmas Festival celebrations.

Mayor Expresses Gratitude for Community Support

The Mayor of Boston, Councillor Barrie Pierpoint, has publicly thanked Pescod Square for its significant generosity. He confirmed that the donation to the Mayor's Charity Fund will directly support his five chosen charities at the conclusion of his civic year. These beneficiary organisations are:

  • Boston Foodbank
  • Boston Men's Shed
  • Centrepoint Outreach
  • Headway Lincolnshire
  • A support group for Adults with Autism

She extended special thanks to Metsa Wood for providing the grotto structure for the fifth consecutive year, enabling the shopping centre to deliver a magical experience to local families while simultaneously giving back to the community.
