The festive spirit was in full swing at Mondelēz International this December as The Cadbury Foundation marked Christmas Jumper Day 2025 with a significant charitable gift. The foundation donated a total of £23,000 to support vital causes across the UK and Ireland.
Jumper Photos Fuel Festive Fundraising
The annual initiative saw hundreds of employees across the company's UK and Irish sites don their most colourful festive knitwear. For every photograph shared by staff posing in their Christmas jumpers with colleagues, The Cadbury Foundation pledged a donation. This year, a remarkable 850 employees participated, smashing the fundraising target and enabling the foundation to give over £20,000 as planned.
The final sum of £23,000 was shared between two long-standing partner charities. In the UK, the funds will go to the Trussell Trust, a network of food banks working to end the need for food banks. In Ireland, the beneficiary is LauraLynn, Ireland's only children's hospice.
A 90-Year Legacy of Community Support
This year's donation continues a partnership that began in 2020 with the Trussell Trust. The collaboration extends beyond the Christmas jumper initiative to include regular food collections and employee volunteering opportunities. The 2025 campaign also holds special significance as it falls in the year The Cadbury Foundation celebrates its 90th anniversary.
The foundation was originally established in 1935 to honour the legacy of brothers Richard and George Cadbury and their deep commitment to employee welfare and local communities. Today, the Christmas Jumper Day forms a key part of the foundation's ongoing mission to give back to communities near its seven UK sites, which include Bournville, Sheffield, and Chirk.
Charity Leaders and Organisers Hail Success
Kelly Farrell, Community Affairs Manager at Mondelēz International, expressed delight at the outcome. "We always look forward to celebrating the festive season with our annual Christmas Jumper Day initiative," Farrell said. "We’re thrilled to have smashed our target and to be able to donate over £20,000 to charities helping those who need it most at this time of year."
Collette Cadwell, Corporate Partnerships Manager at the Trussell Trust, thanked the foundation and employees for their continued support. "The Cadbury Foundation continues to support the important work of our community of food banks," Cadwell stated. "Thanks to this generous donation, we can continue to support people who need it the most, working together to end the need for food banks."
The successful event has set a positive tone for the foundation's community work as it looks ahead to further charitable activities in 2026.
